Side road in Lisbon

I took above photo in Lisbon. I walked into some side road and found this nice place (don’t know its name if it has any). Unfortunately this scene had very wide dynamic range. Using 3 exposures at 2.0 EV spacing wasn’t enough to cover it all (look at the sky – it’s completely blown out). I regret not having a tripod with me during that walk.

EXIF data:
Camera: Canon 5D Mark II
Lens: Canon 24-105 f/4 L IS USM
Focal length: 24 mm

E.V. Step: 2.0
Flash used: no

    Hello,

I just happened to stumble across your work while doing a Google image search on “shot with 24-105”.

My wife is from Lisbon and now living in the US and we visit there ALL THE TIME. I am a amateur professional-wanna-be and I must say I am really enjoying your Lisbon photos and has given me new hope to go out and try again to take some great shots.

This particular shot is in the Alfama district and as you can see, the door on teh right is jazz club called Onda Jazz. “Onda” means “wave” in Portuguese. Onda Jazz was one of the last places I had dinner on my first trip to Lisbon to visit my wife-to-be.

    Thanks for the fun.

  • Hi Paul, thanks for identifying the place 🙂
